After accomplishing humongous success and therefore catching the public eye, Nokia, the Finnish company is now going to bid goodbye to launching Smartphones under its flagship and has now relinquished its control over their devices to Microsoft. It was not until recently that Microsoft made the big announcement about its merger with Nokia; taking over Asha, X-series and Lumia under its hood as a part of a 10-year licensing agreement. It also includes Microsoft gaining complete authority over manufacturing and marketing of Nokia's tablets and Smartphones. Although it's a slow development taking place here, Microsoft is gradually replacing Nokia Lumia with Microsoft Lumia for most of the devices. It now appears that Microsoft has ultimately stepped into its final stage of phasing out Nokia and launching its Smartphones branding them as Microsoft Lumia.
Nokia has waived off the third party contracts as Microsoft will now take over those agreements with which it will also have Symbian, Qualcomm and other silicon companies under its brand. By bringing Nokia into the fold, Microsoft can now strategize and adopt methods in making the whole process of manufacturing phones much more effective and time saving.
It is no secret that Microsoft and Nokia were the closest buddies although they were different companies. Albeit their collaboration in making gadgets were occasional, nevertheless it involved separate development processes, each had its own resources, tools, culture and trades which lead to unpredicted contingences. Microsoft now believes that after the merge, they now have the leverage of gaining bigger understanding of how hardware and software work hand in hand in getting fruitful results.
It has however made alterations in branding some of its applications and has also set the process of brand modification in process. Hence, one can see these changes reflecting locally and globally. This has also been made evident on social media. Although Microsoft will look after Nokia's phones and other mobile devices, Nokia will still play a part in looking after mapping and network infrastructure which remains exclusive to Nokia alone.
Nokia inaugurated the launch of Nokia Lumia series in the year 2011 and has continued to release new Lumia phones although they got acquired by Microsoft and is now launching those series under Microsoft Lumia. One can find great variety in Lumia series since they offer both high-end and low-end versions; some of which are reasonable despite housing incredible internal specifications and powerful cameras.
In the year 2014, four Lumia phones have been launched and all of which runs on the impressive Windows 8.1 operating system. It includes Lumia 530 as the preliminary Smartphone and Lumia 930 at the top.
